Alumni F6

I became more social and would never have thought of doing a leadership program since I’m more independent and introverted. Last year I was doing well in class, and I had never heard of the program til a couple of friends told me about it. At first, I was hesitant since I liked the class and was too nervous since I thought I would not fit or qualified since most of the group members had high grades. However, I did, and it was probably one of the best decisions since I learned a lot. And I met friendly people and made some friends, and I enjoy going on field trips that we went and having a fun time going to different places that I have never gone to since I rarely travel outside my house.

I have seen much growth in myself, mainly in my social growth; since I was introverted and did not talk to anyone other than a few friends. I feel comfortable talking to more people, but I am still working on it. Even though I might be less social, I do not mind when people approach me. However, my body language makes people think I do not want to talk to them, but I do. Moreover, I still have much to learn to be a better leader and role model, but I am off to a good start. Not too long ago, A friend of mine finished an essay from a scholarship and told me I inspired her, so Im doing all right as a role model. However, there is always a way to improve, so I hope that in the future, going into my college career, I can be a better leader to a club or organization or even the school itself.

There is always a way to improve yourself, and I have been trying to improve since last year. Since my school has limited clubs and organizations to join, most clubs did not catch my attention, nor did I even know that we had them, so my activities part in the resume could be higher. However, I want to join more clubs in college as I am going to a community college first and then transferring to save more money. Moreover, when I was in a club, I enjoyed it a lot since I met people with similar interests and hobbies, which I found Nice.

The word legacy is essential; for one, your family in the future will probably have a better chance and more leisurely time to look good in jobs/schools. The second would be leaving a history or story to recount for generations. As history nerds, we must discuss the past to avoid repeating it. That is also why I want to work in public affairs or national relations so that we can improve our communities and learn from past mistakes on what not to do. Since I lived near the poverty line, I understand how the underclass is and why they are struggling, and I want to change that.

In conclusion, I want to thank you for allowing me to apply and earn the chance to win the scholarship, which will help my college worries financially.
