There are many ways to demonstrate leadership. Here are some methods I portray skills that leaders should possess. I believe a leader isn’t just someone who is put in charge to monitor something. The true meaning of a leader to me is someone that is able to set the tone in whatever the team is doing. An individual who is willing to put others over himself. Someone who will always show up for his team no matter the circumstances or the situation. That is the attitude I uphold as a leader.
Within the framework of my academic environment, I proudly embrace various leadership roles such as being a member in the Student Council, player on the basketball team, and also as the captain of the track team. Serving on the Student Council has provided me with invaluable opportunities to refine my leadership skills as I engage in crucial decision-making processes at our school. Being the Captain of the track team means I am responsible for my teammates during track practice and even when we’re not on the track. It is important for me to show qualities that reflect upon my excellence on and off the track. It is noteworthy that through our collaborative efforts, the Student Council Organizes events such as school assemblies. As a member of the basketball team I help to motivate and also uplift others during the heated moments.

I’m thankful for the chances I’ve had to lead so far, and I’m excited to keep improving and learning as a leader in the future. My goal is to meet the true meaning of leadership – being there for the team, putting others first, and always showing up no matter what.
