I have been a part of 20/20 since the start of my junior year; it was the first program I was ever a part of in my high school journey. In the beginning, I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be. I didn’t have knowledge of what was around me that could teach me skills and help me grow as a person. Now, as a senior in this amazing program, I can attest to my growth as a leader. I learned about things that could help me grow and succeed in life as well as benefits that I could use now as a teen. This program isn’t something that shows you the basics that you learn in school; every month is something new. Such as exploring colleges with different career paths and different subjects that you could study. As well as exploring buildings that will teach you life lessons and skills that will help grow your mindset and build a better future for yourself. Learning ways to help your community grow and become a better, healthier place. All this knowledge that I have gained throughout my experience with 20/20 leadership has definitely helped me have the mindset I have now. I know what I want to do, and I know who I want to be. I want to help my community and become a leader; I want to go to college and study sonography; and I want to grow as a person and become a better version of myself than who I was yesterday. It means so much to be a part of this program and soon become an alumna, and I hope to one day help others the way they helped me. Leaving a legacy is making a difference in your community and leaving an impact, such as sharing knowledge and skills, building bonds with others who can inspire you to do something great that will help the future of others, including yourself, becoming a leader, getting involved with causes, and donating money to charities around you. This is what leaving a legacy means to me.
