A close friend of mine who is in the program has recommended me to join as well. He knows how I take action for the greater future. Any opportunity that comes my way, for the ones that I’m aware of I am sure to take it. He suggests that this program he’s been in for about since freshman year is a great opportunity to expand my knowledge about how one can get connections to the real world and one can look forward to life. It’s only been recently that I have joined as a senior and from the few trips that I have gotten to be a part of, it’s been really helpful as I am even closer than if I was to not take it. On our most recent trip, we went to the Federal Bank and I learned a lot of great things about banking I had no clue about. I have never gone to a bank like this before so the things were so fascinating. It was so important how they introduced us on how one can save money. It’s important to learn about these sorts of things in an early stage of life, especially as teenagers who just want to spend it all without hesitation. It’s good to know there are programs such as 20/20 Leadership that can teach us why money is important and the many ways you could be responsible for it. I happened to already know a few of the tips given because it’s a topic that I personally have researched about because my parents have always taught me things they wish they were taught at an early age. So it’s recently why I have become interested in investing my money and in many things besides money. I’m looking forward to the other events this program has to offer. For example, such as the Senior Launch Lab where we have the chance to present what we have accomplished to professionals, it could really help me narrow down my options. I am still quite open to the path I will go into but one thing for sure is in the field of photography. Whether that is getting into film-making with a profession like a director as that would be the dream. Even model photography is a profession that piques my interest in the way I see people. To be able to get my art out there and have people interpret it as they want to interpret it has always been the big idea this creative mind wants the world to see. So “leaving a legacy” to me means you can change the way people think, and feel toward a thing (in this case my artwork) and it inspires them to be someone, that is you leaving a legacy to those around you who are just like you. People with their own passions and goals. Even changing one life could mean the world to me. Programs such as 20/20 Leadership have pushed me to continue chasing those goals and get to where I want to be. I have to appreciate my friend for showing me this opportunity so I can continue to grow.
