Alumni Scholarship Essay

The 20/20 leadership program was a good and fun experience for me, and hopefully for all the other students that decide to participate in this program. The joyfulness of going out the school to learn more about  the real world is great. Ledding us information that we need to be prepared once we graduate is awesome and especially very helpful. Getting to know other students from other schools was the best part. Also learning about past 20/20 participants, and their perspective of this program, also how it helped them get to where they are now. Going to universities and learning about how to register and all the benefits you get from going there was also cool.

I wouldn’t really say I’m a leader but this program has most definitely boosted my confidence compared to how it was before. It has given me the opportunity to improve myself as a teenager about to graduate this year. I would say my creativity skills could use a bit more of an improvement. But overall not bad. My decision making skills have improved a lot during this program, some of my school mates relying on my choice or ideas. I would say I sorta try to motivate my school mates into doing what they do for the right reasons, and the benefits they get out of what they do.

I will most likely use what I have learned in this program to decide how I will continue after high school. Deciding what gives me more benefits than any other thing. Always trying to improve myself no matter what situation or condition I’m in. I have the need to be better than I am now, always have been, just never knew how to, until I focused on what I wanted. My knowledge about this program will help be a leader to those who are willing to follow. For example working in a team or anyone who is wanting to succeed, having a positive change on people. Hopefully of course.

We all want to be remembered for all the good things we have accomplished. Knowing that others would want to follow your steps to become someone better than who they are now. Leaving a legacy is to succeed in everything you need to do, in order for those around you to ask “how did you do it?”, “What did you do?” and etc. Having future generations accomplishing many things that they would think is impossible for them. Changing the world to become better than worse, to leave a legacy you must sacrifice so many things along your journey trusting that you’ve made the right decision.

Being a leader isn’t always easy, it can be difficult at times. But there are those you are counting on you to succeed in what you want. Through hardships there will be the greatest reward of all, and that is having your dreams come true.
