Hello my name is Ny’Vieanna Whitmore. I am a senior and I graduate this year. Now as asked I will be answering a prompt on my participation in the 20/20 Leadership program, how have I grown as a leader? How will I use what you’ve learned in the future? 

Participation in the 20/20 Leadership program has been an invaluable journey that has significantly contributed to my growth as a leader. Additionally, the program has prompted me to contemplate the profound concept of “leaving a legacy” and its significance in shaping my leadership narrative.

Throughout my involvement in the 20/20 Leadership program, one of the most notable areas of growth has been my ability to communicate effectively. The program’s emphasis on interpersonal skills, with various interactive sessions and workshops, has honed my capacity to articulate ideas clearly and empathetically. I am now better at understanding diverse perspectives, and adapting my communication style to different audiences. This enhanced communication proficiency has not only improved my team collaboration but has also allowed me to foster a more inclusive and supportive work environment.
I have gained insights into decision-making processes, conflict resolution, and strategic planning. The 20/20 Leadership program has acted as a catalyst for my personal development, allowing me to evolve into a more adaptable and resilient leader.

The strategic thinking and problem-solving techniques learned will be instrumental in navigating the complexities of leadership roles. I am now equipped to make informed decisions, lead with confidence, and inspire my team to achieve their highest potential. The program has giving me a sense of responsibility to contribute positively to the organizations I am a part of, ensuring that I leave a lasting impact on the people and projects I am involved in.
“Leaving a legacy” holds profound meaning for me, inspired by the insights gained from the 20/20 Leadership program. Legacy, to me, is about creating a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment. It involves mentoring and nurturing the growth of others, sharing knowledge, and fostering an environment where leadership is a collective effort.
I envision leaving a legacy that transcends my immediate influence—a legacy that inspires future leaders to strive for excellence, embrace diversity, and lead with integrity. By incorporating the leadership principles and values instilled in me through the 20/20 Leadership program, I aim to contribute to a sustainable and positive legacy that extends beyond my tenure in any given role. I am going to excel in my field I am going to help people

In conclusion, my participation in the 20/20 Leadership program has been transformative, shaping me into a more effective and compassionate leader. The skills and perspectives gained will undoubtedly guide my future endeavors, influencing the way I approach leadership challenges and opportunities. I started off a very shy and introverted barely able to breathe too loud in a crowd but I’ve gotten better, I’ve evolved. Thanks to the amazing opportunity of being in this program.
