A need we need in our community is more shelters nearby, free therapy group sessions among teenagers who go through mental health. In my community I feel like we don’t have nearby shelters for homeless people, I don’t see one near where I live and I think we need one because there are so many people on the streets. Nowadays, teenagers go through a lot of things, that they shouldn’t have to go through, if we find people who go through the same situation then they can help each other out. There’s a lot of violence going on in the world and we need to protect everyone at all costs especially kids because we are dying before we hit 10 years old. We go through trauma and some people don’t have people to talk too so I would love to see a group session around the community and talk about our feelings. Another need that we need is more black doctors, scientists, realtors, etc, for all races as well. Growing up, sometimes you never saw the color of your skin be seen at specific jobs and I feel like we need more people to be involved and make a change that we been wanting for more than a decade now. One day we will have these changes and it will take over, if we have more people involved in the community.

What I plan to study after high school is why black women have complications during birth rather a white women giving birth. I always wanted to study this because I was taking a dual credit class about RACE and this specific topic came up and it was very interesting and I was curious on what race got to do with it. I believe that this study is going to make an impact on my career because I will dig real deep into this and while I am in this field I will see if this is really true.  I want to be an obstetrics and gynecologist because I love helping people who need help and especially us women who go through all of these things. This job career has been planned since I was in middle school and it stuck because I was always watching doctor shows and it inspired me to be in the medical field. When I retire I would like to work with Early Childhood, I am currently getting my child development association and working with infants/toddlers.

My future will impact my community because they will see me on TV and make a difference in the United States of America and the community . Young black girls and boys will be inspired that they can do anything that they want to do if they are just in the work and put their mind into it. If we have more people involved in the community maybe the crime rates will go down. Our community can be a better place, it’s not just about education, to me it’s more about making a change in society and you being part of it. We need more inspiration, if we have that then we all will be educated.
