I’ve always felt like I was a natural leader. I’m the firstborn, first daughter, granddaughter, and niece so I’ve always had to be the ideal role model. I have been put in many leadership roles over my course in high school I’m in 2020 leadership, student ambassador, Student district advisory council, and student intern. I love that my school can come to me and feel comfortable putting me in front of the camera with a newscast and talk about my school. I also did a good news club with Faxon elementary school during my eighth-grade year through my sophomore year of high school. The student district advisory council has given me a chance to speak my opinion on what is going on in my school and district and the chance to hear from other schools in the district and to know that my school isn’t the only school struggling financially and just with the students and teachers relationships this experience has opened my eyes too broader point of view. Another leadership experience that I have gotten to experience is being a student intern for my school district this has given me work experience in a field that I am interested to go in to in college. I am a 4th-grade teacher assistant I get held to the same standards as a teacher’s business casual clothes and appropriate conversations with students and this has given me a chance to have this experience with the kids and practice building relationships with them. Being a student ambassador has let me experience high school differently. I’m a good student who doesn’t get into trouble, does most sports, stays on top of my grades best I can and I’m active when it comes to school events. I’ve done news interviews for my school, Volleyball player, basketball manager (boys and girls), Track and field athlete, and Tour guide and I can’t wait to bring everything I did in high school to a new level in college. I hope to demonstrate my leadership in the future by continuing to be involved in school and to be a role model to other students so they can have someone to come to and talk to and feel unjudged and heard. When I go to college I want to major in social work or education and I feel like there are so many ways I can be a leader in each one of those roles but I want to advocate for my students or clients that is one of the main jobs. My real goal in any one of those fields is to be the change I wanna see I’m very passionate about social work because I’ve been in the system I know how bad our system is and the way it makes the children feel like they’re just another case and number and what their going through doesn’t matter and I don’t want any kid too just feel like a case number and as if they don’t matter. I’m interested in education because we need teachers and ones that like their job care about kids and wanna see them be the best they can be and encourage them also there are so many other opportunities in education besides just becoming a teacher and still being able to work with kids and I also plan on coming back to Missouri and help my community with the degree I decide to pursuit.
