To know me, I think it’s important that you understand my passion for creative expression, my concern for others, my dedication to education, and being a leader. I dance, play violin, volleyball, bowling, track and field, and sing in my spare time. I have shown leadership in multiple activities. For example, National Honor Society, volleyball and bowling. In the National Honor Society I am currently the vice president. Last year I was the treasurer. Being a member of the National Honor Society is a deal because they teach you a lot about leadership. In my school and even outside of school, people notice my leadership qualities. My teachers and administrators recommended me for the NHS. I am really proud of that role and everything we have accomplished.

In Volleyball I was a co- captain. I stepped up whenever one of the other captains wasn’t there. Lots of the girls always came to me whenever they had a problem or needed help with anything. I was always there to help. I helped the freshman whenever I could pull them aside and give them some pointers. I tried to make sure the Freshman and JV teams knew what they were doing and always watched their games. I would tell the girls to move in a certain way or put their arms in a certain way so they could improve. My coach always saw my leadership skills as well and she is very proud of me. She could always depend on me for anything. It always made me feel good when I know someone benefited from my advice. Knowing I could help others out is something I truly do have a passion for.

With bowling, I was the co-captain my Junior year even though we were in COVID. It was just me and 3 other boys. It was a small team. My senior year, I was the captain of the team. I would say I really tried to bond with my teammates and make everyone feel welcomed. I tried to keep the peace and remind everyone that we are a team and we need to act like one. My coaches would always tell me that I have strong leadership skills and qualities as well. I was always involved in some of the decisions the coaches made, especially when it came to the team. I also gave my teammates pointers on how to get better for bowling. I would try and show them what they were doing wrong or should improve on. I would try and practice bowling on my own as well and sometimes 2 or 3 of my teammates would join me. It has been an absolute joy bowling with them this past year.

Throughout High School, administrators and teachers have always recommended me for different opportunities. Recently for 2 years I have also been on the Superintendent Student Council. That is when the Superintendent and a select few students from all the high schools in my district, sit down and talk about issues in our schools and things we should improve on. In the future I want to continue being that role model for others. By doing everything in my power to help people with anything they need. No matter how big or small they are. I want others to feel comfortable around me and let them know I am a shoulder to lean on.
