Gene Denton Memorial Scholarship Essay

     Something that this community needs would a better, bigger area where people can walk around and have fun. A place that has mini fields of sports you could play with a free entree to that, but there will be a fine if they lose or break the equipment.  This area would be open early in the morning around 8am till 10pm in the afternoon, there could also be store around that area or in it, almost like the legends but not really. Because it will have more activities for people to enjoy. Another thing we need in our community would be better streets. Reason why I say that is because sometimes the streets are awful to drive on. This mostly happens when its snowing or after it had snowed, the snow creates pot holes all over the road. There are worker who put salt on the road but it’s still not enough for the roads, I feel like we need to create some sort of better concrete, something that could sustain more of a long duration for the snow to not create pot holes. 

     My plan is to study engineering, more specifically in architecture to build structures or sketch out some plans that could possibly go into construction. I would like to go to UMKC for this education, and of course with some help with understanding what I’m doing. I would study architecture for 4 years and hopefully go straight into working with other architects or something close to it, hopefully. What I’m thinking I wanna do is sketch and create 3D models or blueprints of what I want to become reality. Coming up with an area that everyone would like to visit and entertain them all, also make it look like it’s not crowded but it actually is, just that the area is spacious. 

     My future education will help change my community by giving opportunities to those who want to learn. Hopefully I can build an area of learning but also having fun at the same time, nothing like a school though, or a museum. You could think of it as just going to college but of course not getting the same learning experience or teaching but something simpler. My education will lead me to become one of the best architects in the world. Build one of my own structures and not make it the biggest but make it the most unique. A one of a kind structure, where everyone would like to visit, everyone coming from different countries, continents, from everywhere. 

    My goal is to become better than i am now, become someone that others would wish to be. Someone who is known for what they do. Someone who is going to get out of small area in kansas and hopefully explore the world. Experience everything I can while im still young, and enjoy every bit of life has to offer.  I would also like to make Kansas better making it one of the best states in the united states, rather than us just having a good football team. We will have a good everything.
