Gene Denton Essay 4
A need in my community is how challenging the thought of everyone providing love to others, no matter who they look like, can be. Everyone deserves love, no matter how one may see another through their eyes. Which is why I find myself spending volunteer hours with dogs at the local ranch. I think it’s important when you have a chance to be a part of someone’s life, or in this case, a dog’s life, and give them the best time you can while they are still here, it’s all the more of an impact. I try to help this need by also acting as a big sister to other girls in sports, so they can look up to someone else and not feel disconnected or as if someone is not in their corner based on how they look. I have provided my time and dedicated myself to making the best of my years, not just to helping me but finding ways to help others out in the community, and creating a better environment that anyone and everyone can enjoy. I think it’s more important to have others around you smile than just yourself. Why not share a smile if it can make someone’s day? Or even a week. You can never know what someone is going through, which is why it’s always important to make every interaction important and positively memorable. The way I help the community when I’m not volunteering at the ranch or the pantry is how I greet others.
With my education, I plan to continue my future at Saint Cloud State University for a degree in radiologic technology. I decided to pursue this path not just because of my own experiences I have had to face, but also because it is truly important to me to help others. This persuaded me to take my future into the healthcare field, where I can help heal others. I am drawn to radiologic technology because not only does it allow me to be me, but it also allows me to create a career that’s not just meaningful but also impactful. During this program at Saint Cloud, I hope to gain a solid foundation in medical imaging and continue building on my knowledge in human anatomy. Looking past the degree, my ultimate goal is to create a successful career in the field of medicine to continue expanding both my knowledge and skills. I hope to utilize what I learn to not just make a comfortable but a memorable journey for whoever enters the office. In the long run, my education will allow me to be successful, continuing to learn and grow and make a positive impact in the community.
My future education will help me give back to those in need within my community by being able to make a true and impactful change in the community. I will be able to gain a deeper understanding and perspective of others and how to address them. Not only will my four-year education prepare me for a career, but it will also help strgenth a nd continue to guide my leadership and compassion for others. As I have been through multiple volunteer and school activities, I can see how a small effort can really make a huge difference. With further education, I hope to be even more prepared and have even further depth of understanding to help advocate for different needs in different situations. This way, I will use my education to give back to the community, whether it’s dogs receiving love they aren’t used to or humans just giving a friendly smile. Instead of just trying to see the problems in my community, I plan to take the steps to solve them and lead by a positive example. Investing in my education and in the future of my community is all I can hope for in the end.
