For as long as I can remember, education has held an important role in shaping opportunities and improving lives. However, education should extend beyond textbooks and classrooms into real-life situations that people will eventually face. There is a clear need for education that goes beyond academics in my community. Especially education surrounding reproductive health and women’s health. Many young people go through life without fully understanding their own bodies, options within healthcare, or the responsibilities that are connected to parenthood. This lack of knowledge can lead to confusion, preventable health challenges, and choices made without access to accurate information. I believe addressing this educational gap is essential for building up healthier individuals and stronger communities. Through my own learning experiences, I have noticed that topics related to reproduction, pregnancy, and women’s health are often discussed briefly or overlooked entirely. While schools provide basic health education, many important subjects are not explored in depth or presented in ways that prepare students for real-life situations. I quickly realized that I learned more about women’s health through independent research and online resources than through formal education. This helped me recognize how many others may also be searching for reliable information without knowing where to find it. There is a lack of accessible and comprehensive education, which further inspired me to pursue a career not only focused on healthcare but also on education and advocacy. After high school, I plan to begin my studies in nursing and later pursue a specialized education in midwifery. I have chosen this path because it combines my passion for health care with my desire to educate and support others during important life stages. Nursing will provide me with a strong foundation medically, teaching me how to care for patients, understand health conditions, and promote overall wellness. Continuing into midwifery will allow me to work closely with women and families during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. The times when accurate information, emotional support, and compassionate guidance are especially important. My goal is not only to assist in the medical aspects of care but also to empower individuals through education. I want to help people understand how their bodies function, how lifestyle choices affect reproductive health, and how to make informed decisions for themselves and their families. Education gives people confidence and control over their health, allowing them to advocate for themselves and seek the care they deserve. By teaching both men and women about reproductive health, I hope to reduce misinformation and encourage shared responsibility in health and parenting choices. Through my future education, I plan to directly address the needs within my community by providing accessible information and supportive healthcare services. I hope to work in clinics, hospitals, or community health programs where education is prioritized alongside treatment. In addition to patient care, I would like to participate in outreach programs, workshops, or educational initiatives that help young people learn about health topics before they face critical decisions. When individuals understand their health earlier in life, they are better prepared to make choices that positively impact their futures. Ultimately, my vision is to create a lasting impact by improving both knowledge and health outcomes within my community. When people are educated about their bodies and healthcare options, they are more likely to make informed choices that benefit themselves, their families, and future generations. By pursuing nursing and midwifery, I will gain the skills necessary to bridge the gap between healthcare and education. I believe that education is one of the powerful tools for change. Through my future studies and career, I hope to provide guidance, compassion, and knowledge to those who need it most.
