Being around many different communities for extended periods has opened my eyes to the different things each community has. Still, one thing in common all of them need is support. Wanting to reach specific goals takes work, whether with a group of people or by myself, so support and motivation should be provided throughout the journey to reach said goals. Being in my medical assisting program has helped me be the motivation others need. As the program was ending and everyone doubted themselves, I realized we needed to make a change. I started by reminding them how far we have come and the many challenges we overcame, including our professor not wanting to teach any of her classes anymore. The management of the program is treating our program equally to the others. We needed to be there for each other, so we had the consistent motivation to take the board exam, determining if we could become practicing medical assistants.

My interest in the medical field continues to grow. After high school, I plan on pursuing education to earn a biology and pre-dental degree and take all the courses that will help me when the time comes and I will attend dental school. I also want to earn my Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree as I aspire to help people. I have always wanted to help others, and having the courage to motivate and encourage others is a big part of it all. Knowing dental school will not be easy means having me prepare myself with the resources I have, including my family and friends, because I know I will need their love and support to achieve what I want in life. I want what I do to impact people around me, and when I become a dentist, I plan on partnering with different organizations and things to talk to people about my journey and how they can do great things. I want to impact people’s lives significantly and have effects on other people’s lives to keep this a cycle for a more fantastic future. While I won’t be in the same communities I’m in today, I will continue to impact people’s lives no matter what.
