Firstly, my experience with 2020 Leadership has been amazing since my Junior year to my Senior. When being in I feel like I’ve done the best thing a human could have done. What’s more, I’ve made birthday cards for children all over the United States. Nevertheless, it was a collaboration through 2020 leadership and Birthday Connections. A charity that gives kids an opportunity to have a birthday even though their parents might be struggling financially. It warms my heart because I’m making a difference for kids and late adolescents.

Meanwhile, at my High School, I wanted to make a difference. While in my Sophomore year, I decided to address Ruskin High School complications with their comestible for lunch. Therefore, I decided to assemble a small group of friends and family to help scrimmage against the lunch staff. The reason for this being is that many students at Ruskin High School dissipate their food. And then, choosing to eat convenience food from the vending machine. Moreover, when doing a poll with many students they called the food “repugnant”.

Likewise, I knew that I had to contact somebody immediately. As well as that, I contacted and set up a meeting with Ruskin’s former Principal Mr. Torrence Allen about the waste of food at Ruskin High School. Last, I had a meeting between my selected candidates, Ruskin Staff, and Ruskin’s nutrition and wellness department. We were allowed to taste test the new meals, ranging from breakfast to lunch and they were delicious. Subsequently, providing students with a better and healthier way to eat and I am proud of that.

Secondly, I’ve learned many things while in 2020 Leadership such as being responsible, productive, and courteous with others. 2020 Leadership has helped build my character and improve my leadership throughout my journey in High School. Besides, I made sure that I participated in every event especially the Career & College Exposition which opened my eyes to tremendous job opportunities for both me and my twin brother. Without a doubt, this 2020 Leadership program has converted a lot of us students including me and my brother have become vocal people. Showing unique and extraordinary ways of speaking in front of big audiences.

This program has taught me how to get connected with people and open up and branch out with my social networking. Inspiring others and expressing my creativity with the Olympic competition and righteously winning first place. Furthermore, this program has created a strong attribute for me. Even in my Junior year many of the field trips help get my foot in the door and get my name out there. This gave me plenty of emails from many colleges and companies asking for my interest in them.

Thirdly, 2020 Leadership has inspired me to go into studying Psychology. My career is to become an Art Therapist for both outside and inside the Army. It should be noted that I have been accepted into both the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) and Avila University. With my major in psychology and minor in either Graphic Design or Fine arts. Additionally, I planned on joining the Army in my Junior or Senior year of College because I want to have a clear head before making big decisions in life. After College, I would like to be on reserve while in the Army and have the Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) be a Behavioral Health Specialist, or 68X for short.

I’m going to need either a PhD or Master’s degree so I can pursue my field of studies. But the main reason for me becoming a Psychologist or Therapist is because I’ve always been interested in understanding the mental capacity of the human mind. In addition, I want to make a change in the world, giving people the opportunity to seek and get help when needed. For adults, teenagers, and kids who are suffering from psychological disorders. Which can impair many people.

Finally, this program has inspired me to continue to move forward in life and not come to be unprepared for situations. Improving my understanding of social life and making friends along the way. Helping people get through hardships and giving others advice with my psychology techniques and studies. I’m appreciative of this program and how it’s had an impact on my future, my career, and goals. This program has helped me with getting accepted into Colleges, getting my name out there into the Army, and giving me a real-world learning experience.

As well as, pushing me forward throughout my High School career and making it to the top, I would humbly accept this scholarship because it would help me and my family throughout my College years. When I graduate High School I can’t wait to use everything that I have learned from 2020 Leadership in the real world.
