Senior 14

I show leadership in my school by being the Honors Choirs co-president of the 2023-2024 school year. I have been in choir all my life and all of high school I always ran to be president or vice president and since it’s a student vote I never really got the chance to show my abilities instead I made the secretary for 3 years straight, and I believe because of that in my senior year new people and old friends finally saw my capabilities and voted me as the cop president because there was a tie so we’ve been leading our choir together since August of 2023 and it has made me the happiest ever. Because of my capabilities as a leader throughout high school I was always selected in groups to lead them or put them on a path that would give them great insights into what we were doing or going to do. Per my family’s interest they’ve always seen me to be a leader in school, in church, at home and just everywhere I go when there’s a fast or problem ahead I’ve always been the one to step up and take over. But for the past few years I’ve had some disabilities occur that have been testing my ability to be the leader I would want to be. Therefore, in my future I would like to take the role back and use my disabilities to help many women and young girls with the same problems as me. I would like to be apart of the me too movement and lead young people just like me in my community to justice while also going to college to be a nurse and get my masters in business health administration. Over the past few years I have gone through health issues that have interfered with my school and work life, but I always fight through it and try to stay on track because I’m hoping to be one of the next 20/20 alumnus to go out into the world and say “hey I made it and I want to help you make it too!” Being a leader means the most to me because the future of this world is literally in our generations hands and I would like to make this world a little better than it is now because without us there is no change and with the views I have of my generation I believe that I could have the ability to change minds, lives, and jobs. Being a leader in Kansas is a big accomplishment but being a leader in the world would mean so much more because there’s things some can do with the right amount of time, money and power that can change one city with just the help of a brave leader. All in all, my future has already begun and in just a few short months I’ll be ready to make change and lead as an adult who’s heading to college, thank you!
