This program has helped me grow as a leader through commitment, communication, and listening to others. I picked these traits because of the impacts they had on me, but also on others around me. Starting with commitment, I have not just a promise but also a commitment to this program and all it has to teach me. This is an important thing to have as a leader because it shows people that you will not just keep your word, but your actions also reciprocate your words. Communication and listening to others go hand in hand. This is because to be able to communicate with the people around you have have to be mindful of their ideas but also the skill set they bring to the table. To do that, you have to truly listen to what that other person is talking about and how they are trying to tell you their feelings.

What I have learned in this program will be used not just to further my studies in college but also to help me make new friends in a new state and a new job. This can be done by knowing when to dress business casual/professional or by being open to new opinions. It can also help me be a better teammate and a leader in different situations. This program has also helped me be better at networking with other people in my future industry and other industries. The most impactful thing that I have learned from the program is being more financially literate because it is something that I will use throughout my life, but it is something that I can go teach others about.

I have never thought about how I would leave a legacy, whether it is at school, this program, or in my life. But if I were to have my own definition of legacy, it would be leaving behind something that inspires others to work hard for their dreams. I don’t know how I am going to leave a legacy, but I think that we have left on just not in ways you think. It is done through how we interact with each other, and I believe that our actions are what truly leave our legacy behind. I say that because most people are only going to know our first impression, and that alone could be our legacy to that person, but it could be different for another.
