What has made you a better leader? Youth Lead Kc has made me a better leader. It has taught me how to make connections and become less shy. In my future, I will use what I have learned in my career. Leaving a legacy to me means creating something important and positive.
The first field trip I took with Youth Lead Kc made me grow as a leader. At this field trip, there were many people with different careers. At first, I just stayed with my friends. I was nervous and didn’t want to talk to anyone. Every time we went to a new stand, they would talk to us. Since I was nervous, I would let my friends do the talking, and I would stay quiet. I later started to get more confident, and I started talking Aswell. As I was talking to the professionals, I noticed it wasn’t scary at all. I noticed I had things in common with many of them. We are determined people who just want to help others and succeed. Seeing that the professionals were very nice also helped me not be as shy. Once I started talking to them more, if we connected, I would ask for their business card. This way, I could keep in touch or reach out to them. I know that putting myself out there will open many doors for me.
My future career is being an orthodontist. Being an orthodontist, I will have to talk to people every day. I am trying to make myself less shy, which is perfect because I want to talk to my patients smoothly, so they won’t be worrying about the fact that they’re at the dentist. Without this important skill, I can make them feel nervous or unsure. I will also have to be communicating with my staff every day, and I don’t want to seem shy while doing so. I will use the importance of making connections whenever I’m a private practice owner. I will have to get people for marketing, to be my patient, to work for me. I’m glad I’m learning these important skills now because they are a crucial part of being a practice owner.
To me, leaving a legacy is when you’ve done something impactful and positive. This is something that is remembered even after someone is gone. It is something that is good for the world and not something negative. It is something that has helped others and given more opportunities. I want my legacy to be remembered as helpful, giving, and positive. I want to help others grow and become good people. I want to help communities that aren’t given many resources. I want to show people that when you have a dream and you work hard, it will become a reality.
In conclusion, Youth Lead Kc has helped me become a better leader. Everything I have learned in this program is going to be taken into my adult life. This program has prepared me for the real world. Legacy is something that has made the world better.
