Being a good leader means showing dedication and willingness to do what it takes to achieve success. For me, that was something very difficult to understand and do at first. My school has helped me develop and grow many skills I never would have. First, I learned how to set goals and do my best to achieve them. Joining my clubs and activities at school has allowed me to be a part of something that matters to me. I joined UBMS, 2020 leadership, National Honor Society, Link Crew, and Link Crew.

All these activities and Clubs have made me more active and responsible in my school life and also helped me develop more confidence. Being a leader is something that people take for granted because they accept the responsibility without knowing what it means. Leadership skills are skills that one can use to influence the behavior of others. In the future, I hope to continue developing my leadership skills by taking on more challenging roles in school and community organizations. I want to inspire others to be leaders and help them grow their skills. With 2020 leadership, I have learned many new skills that will help me, like motivating and giving feedback to my teammates and the team and making my team.

Before I joined 2020 leadership, I was insecure, not knowing my skills and how to use them, afraid of saying something and putting my opinion out there, and unable to think outside the box. As soon as I started being more active in 2020 leadership as a freshman in high school, I noticed my growth and transformation. I learned how to communicate with others and stay motivated. I could use leadership skills I had never used before, but now I feel confident in all areas of my life. I can recognize my strengths and weaknesses and work on them to be a better person. Being able to accept and being able to get feedback on how to improve my skills have been a new part of my growth and development. In the future, I plan to continue using my leadership skills in college and beyond. I want to be an active leader in my community by being a nurse, doing community service, and making more and more positive impacts in people’s lives.

In my school, I am showing leadership skills by tutoring freshmen, helping them make better decisions at school, and being a role model for them to look up to. Being an active student volunteer is also important to me. I have participated in many events in the community, and as a result, I gained many valuable skills that I can use in my future career. Being a leader in my future career is something I am constantly striving to be a part of.
