I applied to the 20/20 leadership program in the summer of 2021 and got accepted in September 2021. We quickly began planning for the 20/20 Olympics project. My experience with the program has been nothing but positive. I have learned so much about leadership and met wonderful people. 20/20 leadership has been a great learning experience and helped me set goals for the future. The learning experience and opportunities this program has offered me have helped me develop skills that, if I had not joined, I would have never earned. The most important thing I have learned from this program is how to be successful as a leader. I have grown with 20/20 leadership, and the things I learned will stay with me forever. As time passed, I became more confident in my abilities and developed in various ways throughout the program. My improvements helped me gain the experience I sought and taught me important lessons that will continue to benefit me in my future career and endeavors. Some of the most important things I learned while participating in the program were the following: having connections with individuals, being responsible, having individuality as a person, and being confident. All in all, through the 20/20 leadership program, I have acquired numerous skills that will be useful to me now and in the future! One of the most important things I learned while participating in the program was how to be successful as a leader.
As I approach the end of high school, I plan to use all the skills I have gained from the program. As a young adult, I plan to build a career in orthodontics. I plan to attend The University of Missouri Kansas City, where I will be majoring in biochemistry. Then, I can use my newly found skills to succeed in my field of study. I wish to continue dental school and ultimately have my business, being a proud leader. I can use this experience and resources to better my future self and achieve my goals. The experience 20/20 leader has gifted me will contribute to my future success. If not for 20/20, I may not be where I am today.
“Leaving your legacy” is an impressive phrase. To me, “Leaving your legacy” means leaving an imprint on this earth as the best version of yourself. It can have an impact on just one person or as great as an impact on the world. As you leave this earth, you know you have done your best and will not have regrets. Leaving behind your purpose and having an impact is more than just being famous or leading; it is about assuring you did your best and can finally rest in peace knowing what you did on earth was valuable. People can leave their legacy by being honest, respectful, considerate, and compassionate. Leaving a legacy is not only about making a difference or having intentions of doing so but positively impacting this earth and staying true to your beliefs. Ultimately, leaving a legacy is about making a lasting impact that positively affects others and inspires them to do the same.
