A lot of the students are unaware of how to save. At a young age, students are more likely to spend large amounts on wants than adults are. Students are like this because usually, they do not have many responsibilities. Therefore, they are more likely to spend the money knowing there is no risk. There isn’t much responsibility given to a child, but it is still important to understand the dangers of overspending. The sooner you learn to be disciplined, the easier it will be for an individual. 

After high school, I want to pursue a finance degree. With this degree, I can study to become a financial analyst. The school I chose to go to has an excellent program for business. They have four different pathways you can go down and they are all different from each other. Whichever path you choose, they provide you with another option to choose a career path you want to be in. They do this to ensure you are getting the proper classes and knowledge needed for that career. I would like to start as a financial analyst and continue to move up. A financial analyst provides financial information and support to clients and businesses. They are the ones that will guide you on what your expenses are and what you can afford. To position myself to do so, I will exhaust all resources my high school and college can provide for me. I will also be exhausting outside resources. I will accept any criticism to better myself in the business field. Networking is a major part of this as well. Being able to build strong relationships within the workplace and outside can help me find great opportunities.

With the finance degree, schools and clubs can use me as an advocate for the finance field. I would love to do public speaking at schools to get the kids more involved with financial literacy. I also would like to help schools create a curriculum over finance so that they can have a structured and accurate curriculum. Sometimes people think talking about business can be boring because it can be a serious topic. If they can understand the concept of finance and the great opportunities that can arise just by learning how to budget and save, they will be much more interested in the topic. Once you learn how to take money and spend it wisely, you will be much more comfortable with your spending. Learning what you can afford and what you can’t afford is important. One of the other things to remember is that you can always give someone wisdom, but it is up to them to decide whether it is worth taking.

One of the things I would like to set up in the future is an online financial guide that provides the information needed to set up their finances. I want it to be set up in a module structure. That way, people can go through the guide as if it were a real class. It would provide them with different topics and information regarding how to navigate through it. I want it to be affordable so that while I am still financially gaining wealth, I can also help others learn how to gain wealth for themselves. 

My passion for helping others is high. I hope to learn more skills that will allow me to connect with the generation after me. I want to ensure that at least I can do something to help benefit my community. Even if it is just a small change, it makes a difference when someone knows they are being looked out for.
